January 16, 2009
On Friday, January 16th students from Ms. James' first period English class paid tribute to the late Dr. Martin Luther King. Students recited passages from his 'I Have a Dream' speech which Dr. King delivered in the shadow of Abraham Lincoln's statue on the National Mall in Washington D.C. on August 28, 1963.
Ms. James' students did an outstanding job reading Dr. King's words over the school's P.A. system so that the entire school could participate in the event.
Students will be sharing their experiences about the activity and their writing will be posted here soon.
